Abstract:
O GEORADAR é um equipamento que permite a inspeção de terrenos e estruturas, cuja técnica de aplicação se baseia na propagação de ondas eletromagnéticas em meios contínuos, apresentando a capacidade de detetar interfaces entre materiais com diferentes propriedades dielétricas. É uma técnica de prospeção que tem a vantagem de ser indireta e não destrutiva, sendo muitas vezes utilizada na deteção de vazios. Nesta comunicação apresenta-se os resultados obtidos em ensaios com GEORADAR, com o objetivo de deteção de eventuais vazios subjacentes à estrutura da piscina de Vale de Lobo, que foram realizados para a elaboração de um parecer técnico sobre as condições de estabilidade da piscina e da falésia adjacente na praia. The GEORADAR is a tool that allows the inspection of terrains and structures based on the propagation of electromagnetic waves in continuous media. It is able to detect interfaces between materials with different dielectric properties. It is an indirect and non-destructive technique that is often used to detect voids. This communication presents the results obtained from GEORADAR tests, whose aim was the eventual detection of voids underlying the structure of the Vale de Lobo pool. These tests were carried out as a contribution to a technical opinion on the stability conditions of the pool and the adjacent cliff on the beach.
