Abstract:
A summary of the work undertaken within the study entitled "Environmental assessment of
the groundwater resources quality associated with the airport infrastructures of the Lajes Air
Base throughout the area of Praia da Vitória municipality" is presented. Its main objective was
to characterize the environmental status of the potentially most problematic areas in order to
analyse the main risk factors for groundwater abstractions, envisaging ascertaining the
adequate mitigation and recovery measures.
