Barbosa, A. E.; Rebelo, M.
The two-day NATURELAB International Workshop I (IWI, 9-10 October 2025) featured contributions from NATURELAB partners, from the sister projects RESONATE and GreenME, as well as from international participants with diverse backgrounds, encouraging the sharing of insights, methods, and early findings. Keynote presentations explored links between health, urban sustainability, and evidence-based practice, while parallel sessions supported collaboration between researchers and practitioners.&#13;
&#13;
This Book of Proceedings includes all the works presented, as well as a summary of the keynote sessions and the following panel discussion. It serves as a lasting record of the IWI and an ambassador for the increasing relevance for research, policy, and practice in the field of nature-based solutions and therapies.

<summary type="text">Proceedings of the Fifth International DAM WORLD Conference - Preserving life through dams
Pina, C.; Portela, E. A.; Caldeira, L.
The DAM WORLD Conference Series serves as a leading forum for sharing the latest scientific and &#13;
technical advancements, as well as discussing the key challenges and solutions facing the dam &#13;
engineering sector.&#13;
The inaugural DAM WORLD Conference took place in Brazil in 2012. The subsequent events, held &#13;
inPortugal in 2015 and Brazil in 2018, were both highly successful. The Fourth International DAM &#13;
WORLD Conference, originally scheduled as an in-person event in Lisbon in 2020, was instead held &#13;
as an online event – the DAM WORLD Webinar – due to the global pandemic.&#13;
The National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC) is honoured to host the Fifth International &#13;
DAM WORLD Conference. Continuing the tradition of its predecessors, this event will provide a &#13;
platform for delegates from around the world to exchange valuable knowledge and expertise. The &#13;
theme of DW2025 is “Preserving Life Through Dams,” and we are committed to exceeding your &#13;
expectations. Canada will be the invited country, with distinguished experts and representatives &#13;
sharing their insights and advancements in dam engineering.&#13;
In addition to technical sessions, the conference will feature keynote lectures and pre-conference &#13;
oneday courses, all designed to enhance professional practice.&#13;
The  proceedings  of  the  Fifth  International  DAM  WORLD  Conference  will  be  published  in  two &#13;
volumes. All included papers have undergone a rigorous peer-review process, and only those that &#13;
were accepted will be presented at the conference and included in the official proceedings.&#13;
The Conference Organising Committee would like to extend their appreciation to all the authors for &#13;
their contributions and dedication in preparing and submitting their papers. We also wish to express &#13;
our sincere gratitude to the members of the Scientific Committee for their thorough and thoughtful &#13;
review of the papers featured in these proceedings.&#13;

The 8th Europe Congress of IAHR (International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research) was held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 4 to 7 June 2024. The Congress was organised by the IAHR Europe Division and the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering (LNEC), which hosted the conference, together with the Instituto Superior Técnico - University of Lisbon, the Faculty of Engineering - University of Porto and the Lisbon City Council. It was supported by more than 15 sponsors from across the water engineering community. Under the main theme “Water - Across Boundaries”, this edition of the Congress in Lisbon focused on the importance of sharing research, technology and innovation to address unprecedented water challenges and to promote sustainable water engineering. Business as usual practices are no longer tenable. Bringing about the necessary changes is a shared responsibility. The programme also included four keynote lectures, four master classes, ten special sessions and three technical visits. On behalf of the organisers of the 8th Europe Congress of IAHR, we would like to thank the speakers and delegates, the members of the Scientific and Organising Committees, the sessions chairs, the conveners of the Master Classes and Special Sessions, as well as the colleagues and volunteers from all the involved institutions.
